I attended East Tennessee State University and received a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work.  Then, decided to change my carrer path and become a teacher.  I went back to school and earned my Master of Arts in Teaching Degree from ETSU, as well.  I am currently working toward my Master's +45 certification.

This year will be my eleventh year of teaching.  I have been blessed to be teaching at Whitesburg the last nine years. I have taught kindergarten, first, and second grade over the years and currently teach first grade.

My name is Mrs. Seana Dawson.  I am thrilled to be teaching first grade this year at Whitesburg.  I was born and raised in Greeneville, Tennessee and now live in Mohawk in Greene County.  My husband, Josh, my sons, Josiah and Jude, and I live on a small farm.  Josiah is four, and Jude is two.  We also have another baby due this coming October!!!  We have a few cattle, 2 dogs, and a cat.  We are active members at Russellville Baptist Church, where Josh is the youth director.  We love working with youth and young children.  Both my parents are teachers, so I never thought I would become a teacher when I was growing up.  Now that I have been teaching ten years, I can't imagine doing anything else.  I absolutely love it!  Seeing kids learn and being a part of their success is the best part.  Spending time with kids can't help but make you love life.
